BONFIRE

1603, Queen Elizabeth I died. Catholic son of King James I to the throne.
Catholics believe that the King can support them. But in reality, they greatly disappointed.
Thus, in 1605, the 13 Catholics in England decided to revolt.
13 people's plan is simple.
They will use black powder to blow King and his ministers.
So, these 13 people soon collected 36 barrels of black powder.
Now, they just waiting the King to attend the meeting on November 5.
But the king knew about the incident.
In the November 5 morning, the King arrested these 13 people and the 36 of  barrels of powder.
So, the king had the reputation of a charmed life in November 5.
And they want commemorate this day, every year of 5 November the people will lit the bonfires.

And I find a Folk songs for this day.

Remember, remember the fifth of November,

    gunpowder, treason and plot,

I see no reason why gunpowder treason

    should ever be forgot.

    Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes,

    'twas his intent

to blow up the King and the Parliament.

Three score barrels of powder below,

    Poor old England to overthrow:

By God's providence he was catch'd

With a dark lantern and burning match.

Holloa boys, holloa boys, make the bells ring.

Holloa boys, holloa boys, God save the King!

    Hip hip hoorah!
